Elbe Bike Path

The Elbe Bike Path is one of the most popular long-distance bike paths in Germany. Approx. 91 km of the path lead through Schleswig-Holstein and the path also runs right through Glückstadt.
Starting in Brunsbüttel, the path follows the Elbe via Brokdorf to Glückstadt. A real eye-opener on this part of the path is the sheer breathtaking size of the Elbe, flanked by high dykes against storms and floods. Behind Glückstadt, the massive river becomes quieter and our path continues over the streams Krückau and Pinnau through the marshlands of the Haseldorfer Marsch on to Wedel (Visitors should always check the opening hours of the tidal barriers!). From here it is only a short trip to the metropolis of Hamburg.
